Found Panorama

Panorama is the next project we've begun to work on.  These two photos are examples of the style of photography we will be capturing.  I love the creative twist on the photo of the hot air balloon and the how you can feel the depth of the Parthenon museum.  Enjoy!

Found Faces Story

"He's a platypus.  He doesn't do much."
"Hey, where's Perry?"
*platypus growl*

Recognize these phrases from a famous show?  That's right, they are all to do with Perry the Platypus from Phineas and Ferb!  Consider yourself an expert in all things that pertain to aquatic mammals.  What may shock you is where he resides when he's not saving the world or living with the Flinn's: Newberg High School.

Perry enjoys resting on the walls of Yellow School.  As the school day passes and students rush to their classes, he watches out for any signs of trouble.  His silent demeanor and camouflaging skin frighten off his enemies. Thanks to the presence of our local hero, Newberg has yet to endure an attack from Doofenshmirtz.  The Tri-State Area is keeping him busy for now.

When he's not on duty, Perry enjoys spending time with Phineas, Ferb, and the entire Flinn family.  Since his job is so demanding, he often lies low and naps when within their home.  The family expects this behavior from him; they believe he doesn't do much.  Nevertheless, he deeply cares for everyone of them, even Candace, who tries to replace him with an evil bunny.

Spending his days in Newberg isn't his only secret.  While he is an agent, Perry has always dreamed of trading the fedora for a helmet and owning a sky diving company.  His father took him on his first dive, and ever since then he's been "falling" in love.

Perry's only comment when interviewed?
"*platypus growl*"

Found Faces

Hey fellow bloggers!  Next challenge in our photography class was to find faces in inanimate objects.  These are my favorite five from my project.  Hope they make you smile :)

Found Composition Post

I've always dreamed about traveling, so I searched some of the most famous sites in the world to find examples of photography concepts.  Enjoy these pictures as you take a virtual trip around the world!
This photo of a window from Notre Dame is an example of filling the frame, a fancy way of saying "up close."
You get a completely different view, also known as a different angle, when looking at the Golden Gate bridge from the top of one of the towers.

The tiers of the Parthenon are a perfect example of vertical line photography, capturing the height of the building.

This street in Italy is an example of converging lines, because the tall buildings frame the road, making it seem like it goes on forever.

Big Ben stands tall and proud in this rule of thirds photo, meaning that if the picture were to be split in thirds, the focus would be on one of the sides.

The names along the Vietnam War memorial are an example of horizontal photography.

These bright lights found on multiple billboards in Times Square are an example of diagonal photography.

Finally, this California Redwood tree is framing the hippie van.

National Geographic Post

Hey viewers!  The National Geographic website has so many AMAZING photos on all different kinds of topics: people, animals, nature, weather, etc. It's so hard to pick a favorite, but I did find one:
This is a photo of fireflies taken in North Carolina, where my grandma currently lives.  My mom spent most of her middle and high school years on the East coast, so she grew up with fireflies sparkling in the summer nights.  Unfortunately, I have never seen them myself, so this picture is as close to the real bugs as I can get.  It's a goal for me to see them in person, and this picture is a reminder of that goal.

What I love about this picture is the color contrast; the ground and trees are a bluish-green color while the lightning bugs are streaks of light green and yellow.  I so badly want to go into this forest so I can lie down on a blanket and watch these incredible creatures!  They are so beautiful!
